Introduction to Bee Keeping (Fall)
Have you ever thought about learning the basics about the hobby of beekeeping? Welcome to this fascinating hobby! Students in this class will be given an overview of the science & practices involved with nurturing & developing your own bee colony. Topics will include understanding the equipment to get you started, as well as a few key elements of beekeeping to assist you in preparing to start & keep a strong and productive colony. The important outcome of this class is the valuable preparation students will receive for the handling of honeybees before the purchase of a first colony. This class will be followed by a Intermediate Bee Keeping class in the spring of 2017 that will focus on starting the colony. Class size limited to 8.
