Motor vehicle pollution control systems in vehicles subject to emissions testing are required to be tested once during the period for which vehicle registration or renewal is issued. Upon successful completion of this course and testing, individuals will earn the PA Emissions Inspector Certification. This class is for the student who wants to learn basic automobile maintenance. It will include demonstrations on how to change brakes, tires and oil on an automobile, and how to diagnose engine problems. Instructors will review automotive operations and common repair techniques. Students will become familiar with the basics of preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and the operational systems of the automobile. Seven (7) sessions, every Tuesday. This course will explain how to repair minor auto body dents and structural damage. Other topics include using different types of paints and primers, and how to apply new epoxy products for gluing plastic. Painting techniques, including clear coating, will be covered. All supplies are included except paint and clears.
