This class starts with round stock high carbon steel; then forge a knife with an integral bolster using the hydraulic press, power hammer and by hand at the anvil. It then goes through the heat treat process, and is fitted with a hard wood handle. This class is taught by Andrew Takach. On the popular TV show, Forged in Fire (season 4, episode 13), Andrew competed and ultimately won with his Shamshir sword. In this class, students will learn how to key up, re-key and master key residential knob locks. We will cover making keys by code, copying keys and making a key to lock without having a key. Students will be taught everything they need to know to re-key their house by learning how to gauge a key to set up a new lock.
