Chef’s Knife (22SG)

This workshop is for those wanting to expand the forging abilities and go home with a hand forged knife made for daily use in the kitchen. You will learn forging techniques, use a power hammer and hydraulic press as well as hand forging to shape your knife. We will go over the heat treat process and proper edge geometry needed for a knife designed for kitchen use. Students will also use a drill press, belt grinders, bandsaw, and milling machine. This class is taught by Andrew Takach. On the popular TV show, Forged in Fire (season 4, episode 13), Andrew competed and ultimately won with his Shamshir sword. Several photos of his work have been published in books and magazines, including Knives Annual, Knife World, and Blade magazine.
