Rope/High Angle Rescue Level 1 – Group B/D

Participants in this course will be introduced to the basic principles of rope/vertical rescue and to the basic equipment used to implement rope/vertical rescues. The basic skills required to rig, descend, stop, and get out of common problems are presented, demonstrated, and practiced. Students will become proficient at these basic skills. Students will receive a PA State Fire Academy Certificate

  • Rappelling and Belays
  • Tie-Offs
  • Tie Prussik Onto Line
  • Self-Rescue
  • Litter Handling Exercise

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Personnel that in their job duties are members of Confined Space Rescue Teams, Post Fall Rescue Teams or any other team that would require this type of training. Course meets/exceeds all consensus requirements under NFPA 1006 in preparation for the ProBoard Practical Evaluation
