Each student will forge integral camp-size hatchets by forge welding three pieces of steel into one and forging out the blade and handle. We will paracord, wood, or micarta to the handles. This class is taught by Andrew Takach. On the popular TV show, Forged in Fire (season 4, episode 13), Andrew competed and ultimately won with his Shamshir sword. This class starts with round stock high carbon steel; then forge a knife with an integral bolster using the hydraulic press, power hammer and by hand at the anvil.
